The Birth of Peaky Blinders

The series title refers to the real-life Peaky Blinders, a criminal gang in Birmingham. The gang’s name was derived from the razor blades they sewed into the peaks of their flat caps. Those against the Blinders would get to taste their sharp blades. The Birmingham street gang operated from the 1880s until the 1910s. The group remained widely involved in robberies, violence, racketeering, gambling, and illegal bookmaking.
